Everything in our house has been breaking down at once - the heater doesn't heat, the griller doesn't grill, the spinner wasn't spinning and then on Friday the fridge caught on fire. Well, there was plenty of smoke in the dining room when I woke up and where there's smoke...
Now, we've managed to acclimatize to a brisker inside temperature, and we've coped without grilled cheese on toast, but the fridge and the washing machine were the last straw.
So now we have a new, sparkling, decluttered fridge; and a man came today and fixed the washing machine. Unfortunately, he forgot to reconnect the hot water tap, so the newly revamped spinner was soon pumping water all over the floor.
Ah well, I just had to play Pollyanna's Glad Game and tell myself how nice the floor looks now that it's been newly washed....
